Somerset Waters

Somerset Waters are an edition of inkjet prints created from a series of photographs taken of the millpond at Perry Street Mill. The surface of the water creates a screen, a threshold separating two parallel worlds.

Water was the essential feature required for Perry Street Mill to function. The ‘mudlarks’ used to clear the rivers to keep the water flowing. They explored the hidden topography of the riverbed, whilst revealing a lost past through the discovery of rejected objects that had been thrown into the water.
