2003 - 2004 Noted
Based on the theme of Memory and Testimony, together with fellow artists Julie Holye and Angie Poole, True collected memories from a random audience attending Olaf Elliason’s installation The Weather Project at Tate Modern. The Turbine Hall floor became littered with people’s memories that had been written on to post-it notes by the participants, which were also reflected in the mirrored ceiling, documented on film and later collected to form a display shown at a subsequent course at the Tate called Terms of Engagement. They now form a bookwork entitled Noted.

Projects

2009 Venice Agendas VI: Past, Present, Future
True was selected to be a representative from Camberwell, Chelsea and Wimbledon Colleges of Art (CCW) to work with the Audio Arts Archive on a project that used sound recording to address ideas of listening and re-description, parts of which were broadcast live from the Venice Biennale. True produced a sound piece during her stay in Venice entitled The Grand Canal Audio Guide Palazzo Barbaro to Santa Maria della Salute.

Residencies

2011 The Future Is Social Residency at artist John Latham’s Flat Time House
Social sculpture was made from everyday interactions and through performance, discussion and the creation of art. Issues of ownership, the gift economy and the aesthetics of documentation were considered. To conclude the two-week residency The Future Is Social symposium addressed recent debates about the politics, aesthetics and quality of contemporary art made through collaboration and participation, as well as situating the experimental residency in a broader theoretical context.
